NEW from DBSKY
I bought two from DBSKY. They cam in a normal hard drive box with the plastic shipping inserts that cover the drive ends and hold it in place. It was also sealed in the static bag. After reading some other reviews, I checked the drive and it reported zero hours. Performance-wise, these are a lot faster than a WD black 750 GB drive and slightly faster than 1 TB WD Blacks that I have. I was a little worried about giving up my "performance" storage drives but these are definitely an improvement in speed and capacity.

Faulty on delivery
I received this drive barebones in a box, may have had little padding.Some notes:- drive was placed into NAS case with plenty of cooling- within 10 minutes of being powered on my NAS wasn't working properly- hard drive was hot to the touch- placing into hard drive dock, the drive spins up and makes very audible clicks- speeds of the drive start slightly lower than normal, then plummet to bytes/secI have bought hard drives for years for storage needs, and WD has generally been a good brand. Unfortunately this drive seemed DoA. I'm hoping it didn't harm my other drives, but only time will tell.Definitely go with something new and read reviews carefully.

Using 4 of these in a Synology DS920+ NAS
I purchased 4 of the 4TB RE drives for my Synology DS920+ NAS in a Raid 5 configuration to archive my work as a professional photographer. I'm hoping these drives hold up for awhile until I can determine if I need to upgrade to larger capacity drives. I may purchase more of these drives to use in a second NAS unit offsite as a mirrored version of my primary NAS. These hard drives on the surface seem to be an excellent value but given I don't know how long they will last, I can't give an honest assessment until they have been used for a longer period of time. I'll post a follow up review in the future.

Exactly as described. Awesome deal on a NEW storage drive.
I've been using these for mass-storage (not performance-sensitive applications) for years now. They are the cheapest, most dependable and durable drives in their class. Crystal Disk Info indicated it was brand new. My image above is after it was running for about a day. Hard to beat the price and quick delivery.

Does NOT qualify for Western Digital warranty.
I went to register this drive with Western Digital. No luck. It doesn't qualify for Western Digital warranty. This is an OEM drive.

Leaning on a decent choice
Understanding that these drives might not be new, the value seems there. I have 4 in a RAID 5, which has been running for approaching two months. I would do 5 stars, but does any really get 5?
