DDF Benzoyl Peroxide Gel, 2 oz

I've had acne since I was a teenager. For many years I used Clean and Clear's 10 percent Persagel (same as benzoyl peroxide). But up until three years ago, my skin became intolerant of it. I developed stubborn cysts on my chin and acne around my mouth and cheeks, which I never experienced before. I was 23 at the time and I desperately switched over to other acne medications. I tried Murad's sulfur acne medication, Kate Somerville's drying lotion, Dermadoctor's glycolic acid face wash to completely giving up and using Josie Maran's argan oil to see if my skin merely needed a break from chemicals. During this time I also consistently took supplements to control my acne. Needless to say, nothing helped! It wasn't until I switched to DDF and I noticed within the first week that my acne started to heal and go away. Within a month and a half, my acne completely went away except for occasional hormonal flare ups. I've been consistently using this for the past two years. I take half a pea sized amount and smooth it over my entire face (avoiding the eye area). It doesn't irritate my combo, sensitive skin. It comes in a large portion and I think it's completely worth it. You can also search for it at Marshall's or TJ Maxx because they often have it for $9.00, although it's usually close to its expiration date. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this gel. It's simply the BEST! I have been using the DDF benzoyl peroxide gel for several years now and it has really helped me control my adult acne. Yes it can be drying for some people and you do have to be careful to wash your hands thoroughly so you don't bleach colored towels, but for the right skin type this is an essential product for maintaining clear healthy looking skin. Amazon prices for this product are generally less expensive than what I have seen in stores.

I really like this treatment. It has really helped clear up my face. No immediate results but you will definitely notice a difference over time. It gets better with each use. Leaves skin feeling slightly sticky but other than that its a great product.

My son has struggled with acne all through his teenage years and now into his 20's. We had been using a prescription medication which works amazingly but due to changing circumstance, it become to expensive to maintain. I searched and found DDF Benzoyl Peroxide Gel and ro be honest the results are comparable. Not quite as effective as a prescription acne medication but definitely right up there. We will continue to use this product and I highly recommend it. Also it works even better if you use the foaming cleansing product first. Rinse then apply gel. He does it once a day. Does not dry out his face and after a few days make a very noticable difference. Again if you are struggling to find acne help this is a product to definitely add to your cleansing routine.

The product I received did not have tea tree oil, as was in the item picture. Perhaps maybe this is why it is so drying. I have super oily skin, and this mananaged to dry it out after once daily use. Yikes! I went from looking super shiny to super flaky. =(

I had some breakout during a weekend awhile ago and decided to give this a try since it had a decent review. After receiving and applying small amount of it overnight, next day my face was red and itchy for a whole week.

I started using this product "out of the blue". I had problem skin especially during "that time of the month". This product solved all my problems. I have been using it for a month and I stopped using any kind of skin perfecting makeup. Only maybe some powder for added flawlessness. :)This being said, I first used this product before going to sleep without any added moisturizers or anything of that kind. After about three weeks, my skin became slightly irritated and I stopped using it for a total of two days. The skin irritation went down instantly and i began mixing it with a light moisturizer once a day before going to sleep. This solved the problem and my skin felt very comfortable. When I know I am about to break out more than usual, I just use this acne cream alone. Or i use the mixture of moisturizer and cream twice a day instead of once. This helps a great deal. Basically, play around with it and adjust the toughness of the cream according to your needs. My skin "breathes" and feels very soft to the touch. Combined with regular cleansing, this solved all my acne problems. Very happy I invested in this cream and the price is worth the results.

I originally wrote back in 2010 that this gel was a good clean, clear, lightweight gel that worked as good as my previous doctor's prescription and it was. BUT today in Feb 2013 about 2wks ago (after not having had to buy any for a whole lot of months) I bought a new tube and all those recent reviews are right, something has changed in the formula. I was hesitant to order seeing the new reviews, but it had been so effective for me before that I had to give the new formula a try. As a young adult I get mostly spotty breakouts (1-3 bumps at a time). This gel used to take care of those bumps within 24 to 48 hours or less. I had a breakout about a week ago that actually seems to have gotten larger and worse after a whole week of treatment with the new gel:rather than disappearing in a day or two like before--it's having no effect, except irritation enlarging the bumps and drying out my skin around them. Also the cream is thicker, it can be rubbed in but later peels off, especially if applied under sunscreen, lotion, etc. I'm very disappointed to have lost this gel, now I'm back to square one again and good skin products are so hard to find.
