sweeteened with Stevia? Really?

i am a ginger beer lover and would have liked to find this something to satisfy my taste for ginger. in the past i have not liked stevia sweetened drinks. while i do not taste a bad taste drinking them, i don;t get a lot of satisfaction from a drink but thought i would try one again because real ginger might do it.i tasted a strong 'alternative sweetener taste' and when i read the label i found that it contains all it's 11g carbs from erythritol, which is i believe an alcohol sugar. stevia is listed as the last ingredient, therefore the one with the smallest contribution to the drink.i had the reaction that i would get from nutrisweet (if i get such a drink from some error) that after a few swallows, i do not finish the drink, it is as if my body says NO to it.while i would not have minded a sugar free drink that i could enjoy, i am going back to Cock and Bull Ginger beer, which is now and always has been the king. amazon does not -or did not , last time i checked, offer Cock and Bull by the case.people who do not taste the artificial (while it is said to be natural) erythritol flavor like i do are very lucky. i do much better with a splenda or sucrose beverage if i need to drink sugar free.

I don't hate it but I won't buy it again...

I purchased this in hopes of replacing gosling's ginger beer (YUM) for making my moscow mules to lower the sugar and calories I was consuming. I was happy to find a diet soda that might be able to fit the bill. I've had other jamaican ginger ale (Reed's is delicious but expensive). For the price I decided to just give it a shot. The delivery was super fast and came in perfect shape. The first flavor I taste is super gingery (which I love) but the aftertaste is a musky kind of bitter taste I can't put my finger on (maybe the stevia?) and I don't like it. I've been mixing this soda half and half with diet ginger ale from my soda stream (which is good but not gingery enough for me) for my cocktails but will have to keep searching for a diet ginger beer that can replace my high sugar favorite! :( Please let me know if any of you have suggestions! :)

Used to be better, but still quite good

I'm a freak for ginger, so when I got my first case of this stuff and felt that awesome gingery bite, I was in love. I went through a couple more cases of it and continued to love every sip -- occasionally poured over some decent bourbon.Another reviewer mentioned that the product had recently gotten less gingery, and I am dismayed to confirm this report. The most recent case I received (August 2011) is substantially less spicy.I still like it enough to give it 4 stars. It's still more gingery than your standard ginger ale (or Zevia ginger ale, which is quite bland by comparison,) but for a ginger lover like me it's a disappointment. If I had never tasted the more gingery version, I'd probably tell you this is damn fine ginger ale, but the "Jamaican Ginger Ale" moniker is now a bit overblown.Hopefully they just made a weak batch and the next case will be back to gently burning the mouths and tummies of thirsty travelers worldwide.

good, but not for corn syrup or aspartame drinkers.

This is a good soda if you want something fizzy but don't want to ingest pure crap. It does not taste like regular ginger ale. It has a REAL ginger taste, and kick, especially when you get down to the bottom of the can. I personally enjoy it, but it isn't for everyone. Also, It does have eurithritol, which is a NATURALLY occuring sugar alcohol that can be found in some fruits and fermented foods, it is not pure chemical crap like aspartame, as some of the other reviewers seem to think. You won't have any "intestinal problems" (aka. Explosive diarrhea) as you would with Xylitol or other more chemical based sugar alcohols either. If you want a healthier soda, this is great, but don't expect it to magically taste like it's unhealthy counterparts.

THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE

Aspartame... the usual diet soda sweetener which causes memory loss and which disables activity in brain is absent in this Blue Sky product. Stevia is a plant that is stronger than sugar... less in needed, and is not poison like the ingredients that make diet soda sweet. I am no health nut, but a diabetic with intestinal issues. This product has not side effects like sugar rotting your teeth and causing pre-diabetes. Aspartame... the fake sweetener was started in a lab by accident when a neuroscientist found it was sweet. Gross. It was bought by the big companies as a cheap way to sweeten our drinks, and it was once banned because of it's danger. Politics won and we have all been poisoned. In japan most sodas have this STEVIA. Its thousands of years old. Try Blue Sky flavors. I drink this one because the ginger is potent, real potent and is almost medicinal for my condition. It is the BEST ginger ale around. Trust me. Remember eating ginger during a meal or when your ill helps inflammation. Cheers and thank you for reading!

An acquired taste. Definitely.

My drink of choice is rum: with cola (though I prefer to avoid caffeine), ginger ale, or tonic. Curious if some diet ginger ale might have more oomph than generic (but still quite serviceable) Canada Dry, I gambled on this. What a surprise. Not to be disparaging, because it does what it sets out to do, but beyond the expected ginger taste is a secondary flavor I at first attributed to very dirty socks. Makes me think of a very aromatic wood or incense. Now I am used to it, but find it much more compatible with a really hearty rum, even Sailor Jerry, than a wimpy one. Won't totally replace Canada Dry, but is a welcome variation. I'll continue to buy it.
